Private to 5th years
So this weekend those 7th year Slytherins are having some big party to celebrate their birthday or something. And I think that since they never said 5th years couldn't go, we should check it out. At the very least it will distract us from exams, and it could be fun! I don't think I've ever been to a real party thrown by one of the older years, and I think it could be an interesting experience. And if it's awful we could leave, but I imagine that since everyone loves parties so much, it should be a good time.

Maybe we could even drink a little and be a little adventurous.

Thoughts?

How are you holding up? Have your exams been going well?

Private to 5th year girls
I think I want an actual date to this big Christmas party. But as no one has asked me, I think I need to take matters into my own hand because I have no intention of waiting until the last minute to find someone. The only question is who. A 7th year is out of the question because Theo would kill him, and I want a date, not a dead body. I rather like the idea of someone older though so maybe a 6th year or one of the handsome foreign boys. Any suggestions?

And who is everyone going with? Obviously Anna is going with Fred, and Amelia, you're going with Barnaby, yes? But I don't know about everyone else.

I think we are long overdue for a bonding night, yes?

Wow, it is so hard to believe the play is almost here! Time has just flown by. The play looks really fantastic though; I'm so happy I had a chance to do this. I do hope everyone plans to attend next weekend. I promise it'll be worth your while.

But this also means that the term is coming to a close, and, of course, that means exams. I plan on spending just about every free moment on these exams. Our markers matter, after all, and I have no intention of failing 5th year, thank you very much. I would be happy to organize a study group as well, if anyone is interested. I will say that I make fantastic study guides.

Private to 5th years and other friends
It seems like now everyone is suddenly racist or a sex criminal or otherwise offensive. Or pregnant, apparently. It is all very distasteful. I don't remember things ever getting quite so out of hand in previous years, though I admittedly don't always pay close attention to gossip. I had hoped people would be better behaved in order to impress all of our foreign guests- and that the foreigners would try not to embarrass themselves- but that hasn't always been the case. I was looking forward to learning about other people and cultures, but this wasn't quite what I had in mind.

Really, this has been a stressful enough year without worrying about drama. I don't understand how people have the time to get so swept up in it when they should be focusing on their studies- or on quidditch, I suppose.

Have you decided what to do about Eddie?

I think this has been quite an eventful week. First there was the wonderful masquerade. Everyone looked amazing in their costumes, and I had a fantastic time dancing with my friends. And, of course, my date was the perfect gentleman. Thank you for a wonderful time, Barnaby. And then I found out that I'm Viola in Twelfth Night, which is simply wonderful. I'm really looking forward to it, and I promise I won't let anyone down. I think the play will be especially fun since it isn't just Hogwarts students; I feel like I'm still getting to know all of the foreign students and this will be a fun way to do it! There is nothing quite like bonding through Shakespeare, after all.

I think I am even looking forward to this cooking project. Food is a fun way to learn about new cultures, I think. Of course, writing a paper may be easier since I'm a better writer than a cook, but perhaps this will lead to a lasting lesson. And cooking is an important skill to have.

Theo
Congratulations! Of course, I imagine I'm more excited than you are about your role in the play but I still think it will be enjoyable to do something together.

So tell me all about your date.

While I know Quidditch doesn't really have half time like many muggle sports do, do you think there will be student groups preforming before? These games are a big deal, so it seems reasonable for them to want some sort of pre-game entertainment. But, unfortunately, the only group we have that would be suitable is choir, and I think we need to diversify a bit, yes? Would anyone be willing to help me try to start an a cappella group? Or multiple groups, if there's another interest. And maybe an orchestra or a dance team, for those who are interested in those fields. I think it is important to show the world that we are not merely athletic but artistically talented as well! And besides, the athletes shouldn't get all the attention and glory.

Anyone interested?
